In 1881 Mirza Ghulam Ahmad claimed that he received a prophecy from God in the form of “a virgin and a widow” (Tadhkirah, P.50). He states that the prophecy refers to marriage with two women, one a virgin and one a widow. This is in light of his statement,
“...to judge my truthfulness or lies, there is no better test than my prophecies.” (RK, Vol.19, P.288)
The first half of the prophecy was fulfilled through his wife Nusrat Begum. However from this time forth he never married again. This leaves one question for Ahmadis, who was this widow he prophesised he would marry? This is yet another failed prophecy.
